We are living in the age of information, everywhere we turn there is data being collected, analyzed, shared, and stored. As technology evolves and is applied to healthcare, this principle remains true as large amounts of real-world data (RWD) is collected and potentially used to generate real-world evidence (RWE).
RWE can be generated from data collected by wearables in RWE trials, opening untapped potential of collecting information on patient wellness 24/7 in a patient’s natural environment which cannot be accomplished through traditional clinical trials alone. The use of wearables in RWE clinical trials is still developing and care needs to be taken when designing clinical trials to ensure reliable data capture to generate sufficient RWE.
This White Paper dives into the benefits and challenges of RWE trials and wearables while also providing innovative solutions for incorporating wearables efficiently into RWE trials.
